02. Meet

Relationships are our priority. We’d love to meet you and gain an understanding of your scope and specific goals for your project. We’d also like you to ask us any burning questions and decide for yourself if our team is a fit for you and your project. This is also where we discuss timeframe and availability for design.

03. Proposal

Based on the information you provided at our meeting we will prepare a detailed fee proposal. This proposal will outline the details specific to your scope and all the inclusions.

04. Acceptance

Once you sign off on the proposal, we will plan a design kick off meeting to discuss your brief in more detail and really dive into the aesthetic, programming, and potential limitations the project might encounter. The more details we discuss up front, the more thorough we’re able to be in our design development.

05. Schematic

This is where all the magic happens! We start to translate your brief into a conceptual design with the intention of exceeding your expectations. This sketch will include a site plan, floor plans and front façade.

06. Refinement

We will catch up and discuss the design in detail. This is where we can answer any of your questions or discuss possible refinements to the plan. This may include further meetings, phone conversations or interactions via email.

07. Go Ahead

The design is approved by the client (and possibly builder, review committee, etc.) and Slate finalizes the details of the construction set to be sent out.

08. Engineering

After the Go Ahead, Structural Engineering is looped in to complete the construction set.

09. Permitting

After Architectural and Engineering plans are fully developed, plans will be submitted for permitting with local jurisdiction.

10. Dig Ready

Start building your project designed and documented by our team. Obviously, we will be here to provide further advice and answer any query the builder may have.

11. Welcome Home

You’ve made it to the finishline and we welcome you to your new home and thank you for allowing Slate to be a part of your journey.
